Fantasy, Horror, Retelling & Mystery Author

Mylee J. Miller

Mylee J. Miller is an American author of fantasy, retelling, horror, and mystery novels. Inspired by the stories she grew up listening to at her bedside, alongside the disabilities she experiences, she hopes to bring more representation from the marginalized communities she's part of into the fiction literary sphere. Addicted to all things epic, dark, and emotional, most of her projects include characters with big flaws and bigger hearts, with themes that unravel the idea of what it truly means to persevere against terrible odds.Mylee is best known for masterminding the annual literary pitch event entitled #PosterPit, creating the literary-focused podcast Books & Beyond, obsessing over books she's recently devoured, and cooking a mean Italian Sausage Tortellini Soup. When not writing, she's screaming along to Imagine Dragons and walking her cats.Mylee is pursuing a BS in English with a Creative Writing focus in the hopes of becoming an agent or editor one day and works for clients as a freelance editor. She is a submissions reader for Uncharted Magazine alongside Fractured Lit, a book reviewer for SFF Insiders, and a judge for SPFBO (Self Published Fantasy Blog-Off) alongside SSBA (Small Speculative Book Awards). She's represented for her literary works by Rachel Estep at D4EO Literary Agency. Her debut novel, HEART OF BONE, will be published by Crooked Lane (Alcove Press) and Simon Maverick (Simon & Schuster) in Spring of 2027.

Her deep understanding of the publishing industry shines through in her feedback, which is always thoughtful, actionable, and goal-centered. Mylee is also incredibly responsive and accommodating; she takes the time to ask what kind of feedback you’re looking for and delivers it with kindness and clarity. Collaborating with her strengthened my pitch and helped me position my work effectively in this competitive market."

She read it incredibly quickly and got back to me with detailed feedback answering all the initial questions I had posed for my beta readers. "As a beta reader and editor, Mylee truly goes above and beyond. Both her chapter-by-chapter feedback and in-line comments showed deep engagement with my narrative and authorial intent, pointing out areas of improvement in a very constructive way while providing plenty of encouragement, and her taking the time to answer and discuss all my follow-up questions has been invaluable to guiding my revision process. I truly believe any author would benefit from working with Mylee, regardless of what stage they're at in their journey!"

ABIGAIL WADLINGTON

PREVIOUSLY AGENTED AUTHOR

"Working with Mylee is a joy. Her comments were incisive and, important for someone like me, came with explanations! She didn't just say, "cut this line here," she told me why it didn't work. She shared her experiences with agents, how they informed her approach, and applied it to my work. She's been very helpful and I can't thank her enough."
